Inagural Postal Match
Any standing freehand (no leaning on stationary objects) position, single or double-handed, is acceptable; wheelchair or other disabled persons may, of course, make the necessary modifications to this rule.
This first match is for .22lr hand guns only. They can be revolvers or semi’s. There will be other contests for other caliber classes if this goes over well.
Targets
1. Pistol target – standard pistol target, similar to NRA B2 (need 3 copies).
2. IDPA Mini target (need 1 copy).
Shooting and Scoring
Go to the range and practice to your hearts content. But not on these targets. Save them for the real deal. At some time during the next month, go to the range with these targets and have at it using the above rules and the ‘course of fire’ below. There are no “do overs”. Give it your best shot, file them away and move on. Just as if you were actually at a competition. This works even better if you do it with your local chapter.
Courses of Fire: (Note, there is no time limit, and pistols may be reloaded as needed)
Target 1 (Mini Bullseye target) – 6 rds @ 7yds, First round DA, last 5 rds single action, two hand or strong hand
Target 2 (Mini Bullseye target) – 6rds @ 15yds, First round DA, last 5 rds single action, All shots fired Strong hand only.
Target 3 (Mini Bullseye target) – 6rds @ 15yds, First round DA, last 5 rds single action, All shots fired Weak hand only.
Target 4 (Mini IDPA target) – 6rds @ 21 yds, All shots Single Action.
Total of 24 rds fired, High possible score is 180 + 30 = 220
Bonus points:
Add one point for every shot in the X ring on the Bullseye targets
(Max 18pnts)
Add 12 points if every shot is within the scoring rings on ALL targets
(Max 12 pnts)
Therefore, a perfect score = 220 + 18 + 12 = 250
