Range day (tomorrow!) and report to follow.

A lot of manufacturers are just wasting space, really. The delivery of this gun should change the way grips and magazines are designed, but somehow I think it won't.
Kel-Tec P-11 was released 24 years ago, and it's a double stack 9mm with a 1-inch wide grip. That's the same width as the P365. SCCY (which is basically a copy of the P-11) is also 1 inch wide.

Most manufacturers don't make a 1-inch wide double stack 9mm because:
- They use the same magazine and mag well size for both 9mm and .40 S&W. The 9mm mag is a dimpled version of the .40 mag. This makes the grip wider.
- They use exchangeable side plates. The grip functions perfectly without the plates, they just make it wider.
- Glock insists on using a steel & polymer magazine, which is always thicker than a steel-only version. They'll never get to 1-inch double stack 9mm without going to all steel mags.

The only reason why manufacturers other than SIG is not piling on the new category of "slim subcompact double stack 9mm" is because they're being careful. S&W has been selling millions of M&P Shield, and they probably still has several hundred thousands in inventory. When they release a double stack Shield to challenge the P365, the sales of their old Shield models will tank. For now their strategy is to compete on price, you can get a Shield for about half the price of the P365. A lot of people don't think night sights and 3 extra round are worth $250.
I'd say that those people haven't shot a p365. It's balls-out accurate, and from my experiences, completely unstoppable.

It's not just the night sights and extra rounds, it's the trigger, the accuracy, and the ease of concealment (slightly smaller than the shield). I wish they had come out with a DA/SA version, but otherwise, it's pretty much the perfect EDC gun.

I am sorry CD, but I just couldn't resist posting these. They look so cool. It is actually a prop for a Steampunk group I am in. The base of it is a nerf gun.

Meh, I posted some pics of my guns in the club’s Facebook page so we’d talk less about politics and more about guns.
I was accused by a couple of the Fudds from the LGO that hang out there there of having an “unbalanced mind” and “fetishizing” my guns for posting pics of them. So, I’m forever fucking done sharing pics of my Preciouses. Their radiant beauty is all mine now.

Huck, gun porn is one of my favorite posts on this forum. I always want to see your gun photos.

What is the point of an internet gun forum without gun porn? Like a car forum that only allows tire and muffler pics, it seems un-American! :roflmao:

Those guys sound like they *need* to see pictures of guns to become desensitized to it. Hiding things away only reinforces the beliefs of the people who think those things are shameful.

These aren’t all mine, and I’ve added to this since it was taken, but this is a trip to the dez a while back with a friend. He’s got the ones on the left. Looks like an AR, 10/22, Winchester 94 in 30-30, (I think a) 30-06 ‘03 Springfield that’s been sporterized, and a Winchester pump that was his grandfather’s.

Mine start with the Winchester 62 slide action, Glock 17, Marlin 60, Mosin-Nagant, Smith & Wesson 41, and a Mini-14. Not pictured is a Beretta .25. Since this time, I’ve added a Marlin 15YN, a NEF Pardner 20ga, and a TR Imports semi-auto 20 ga.

Funny but the nicest guns I own are the .22s!

senorgrand wrote: Wed Jul 24, 2019 10:55 pm Nice! How do you like that 62?
Arrrgh! It’s a 61, sorry.

But regardless of whether it has a hammer or not, I like it a lot. It goes back in the family a couple generations, so I like it a lot just for that. Mostly, it’s just fun to shoot. The slide works nice and there’s something about the action that feels engaging. It hits where you point it, it looks great, and it’s fun to operate even aside from the Bang! part.

Those others really are my friend’s. He had a bullet button on the AR at the time, but I understand they’re not legal any longer. I don’t know how he’s configured it since.

Posted this in another thread, but it probably belongs here. My 12 GA and only shotguns.

Winchester Defender - It came with a folding stock, and it's pretty light. Not so fun to shoot, but very compact.
Maverick 88 - My first shotgun and my favorite by far. Not sure why.
Mossberg 930 - It is what it is. One heck of a firearm.
