Anyone tried this?

Re: ShotOFF software?
2No, but it looks interesting. Looks like you need a laser aiming device, which I don't currently have.
I have started looking at shot-timer apps for dry fire drill. Most are just variations on an electronic stopwatch, beeping to help you track and speed up draw and reloading times.

Once I buy some laser training rounds I might give it a try.

Re: ShotOFF software?
4Forked and will build it over the weekend, it has a dependency on opencv so I need to make sure libs don't conflict with my other stuff. You should be able to test it use a laser pointer to test it out.
Really excited about this, great find!

5I actually have and use the iMarksman system but its kinda spendy for every day use
Re: ShotOFF software?
6Holy shit! Who are these guys?? Let's give them complementary memberships to LGC!We do not accept monetary donations at this time. We suggest donating to Project Appleseed or your local civil rights organization instead.
If anyone gets this to work on a Mac or Android device, I'd love to hear about it. I'm currently looking to buy a laser trainer and target.
Re: ShotOFF software?
8That's a pretty damn cool idea. I'll probably try this out with my SIRT in the next couple of days. Thanks!
Re: ShotOFF software?
9Downloaded. Seems to be a bit light sensitive, but found my laser pointer as I was headed out the door. Will check it out more when I get back from the Dr.

Re: ShotOFF software?
12Ok, combined with the Laserlyte, this software is pretty good actually. The instructions aren't great, but basically, tape a target on the wall and point your webcam at the target. It records all your hits and has some built in drills for holster work and timed IDPA stuff. I dig it. It isn't ideal for a built in webcam, so pull out the old dusty one in your electronics box and use it instead.
Re: ShotOFF software?
16Yeah, doesn't take up much space though. And it's freeware. Similar commercial software is $125.
Re: ShotOFF software?
17Dang: I missed this the first time 'round. I'd like to find good laser rounds. Anyone have a good source? .38 and .45.

18Haven't seen one for 45 yet, so you might need to get the universal one for that, but these guys do have a 38/357

20Yeah, at $100 each, definitely a little spendy. The 9mm laserlytes can be had for $60 or less on sale on Amazon.
