Chuck Gowdie is pretty much an idiot but this makes sense.

Ha, I don't know anything about the guy. The one thing that struck me was he used what I thought was some pretty inflammatory anti-gun phrasing but then surprisingly came out on the pro-gun side.

Stuff like this sucks. It sucks for the family of the victims of course.

It also sucks for our rights. Every time there's a murder committed by someone who follows all the rules in obtaining a firearm, people inevitably scream "we need more laws" or "ban all handguns".

Chicago bans handguns and in Colorado Springs guns are prevalent and we have lots of concealed carry holders. Chicago has just under 6 times the population of Colorado Springs but Chicago has 28 times as many murders. How's that handgun ban working out for you Chicago people? :lol: On the other hand, there is probably no causal connection between Chicago's much higher murder rate and the handgun ban. It may be that life is so goddamned depressing in Chicago that people there go nuts 28 times more often than people do here. :D
