What a surprise! They even give the NYT a backhanded compliment.
The article doesn't use the phrase "Root Cause Mitigation" wonder if they were aware of it. They also "forgot" to mention what side of the political spectrum is promoting "Operation Ceasefire" and "Cure Violence". An oversight, I'm sure.....
Re: NRA-ILA promotes Root Cause Mitigation
2It does seem like the NRA is slipping, they admit that there may be other solutions to resolve gun violence other than a very strong almost military occupation level of law enforcement in communities. They give a hat tip to models that are working in blue cities and the answer wasn't grabbing guns. Kennedy is a criminologist at John Jay, CUNY.

Re: NRA-ILA promotes Root Cause Mitigation
3Might be nice for LGC leaders to officially reach out to whoever wrote that for NRA-ILA and point out our own views on the topic. This might be an opportunity to help expand the NRA's view of effective efforts to fight violence.

Re: NRA-ILA promotes Root Cause Mitigation
4I'm heartened to see the NRA support something we've been beating the drum on for years. Maybe we can get them to be proponents of single payer healthcare next!
Re: NRA-ILA promotes Root Cause Mitigation
5I think we'll go with heavy on the snark factor about both organizations actually.
