The march will start in Worcester on Aug. 22 and finish on Aug. 26 with a rally at gun manufacturer Smith & Wesson in Springfield at 12 p.m., organizers said.

Stop Handgun Violence, March For Our Lives: Boston, and national youth-led gun reform movement 50 Miles More, are organizing the march.
Students are asking that Smith & Wesson make changes in their manufacturing and distribution policies to help mitigate daily gun violence across the country.
They want Smith & Wesson to limit manufacturing to nonthreatening firearms.

S&W was a previous target for local students earlier this year:

S&W should have the good sense to stay out of it.

Because gun.

The media met the gun prohibition activists at the conclusion in Springfield.
David Hogg, Student Gun Control Advocates Complete March To Smith & Wesson
The marchers condemned Smith & Wesson for making the rifle used in the February mass shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland. The group wants the company to donate $5 million to gun violence research.

Protesters said they also want the company stop making weapons outlawed under Massachusetts’ 2004 assault weapons ban. That law mirrors a federal ban that expired in 2004.
So, donate $5 million to be used to lobby against the firearm industry and cease selling semi-automatic carbines banned in Massachusetts _after_ Maura Healey reinterpreted the state's existing ban in July of 2016. No thought was given to the fact S&W neither asked Massachusetts to pass laws restricting firearms produced by the manufacturer nor asked the AG to reinterpret existing law into a ban.
Parkland shooting survivor David Hogg, who spoke at the rally, called the march empowering. He said Massachusetts shows how commonsense gun laws work.

Mossberg basically moved all its manufacturing out of the north east because they didn't want to deal with this anymore. It's more likely to happen than them going out of business trying to sell airsoft guns and knives.
Perhaps they will, but it's sad S&W should have to entertain the notion of moving the business in the first place just to appease people who appear to have no understanding of what they oppose.
