I'm reasonably certain that they are 3/8 now that I think about it. How big are standard, and are 11mm and 3/8 the same?

Thanks for your help!

11mm are about 1mm wider than 3/8. Its generally not a big deal and most mounts are made to handle it. Even though they come with no instructions, if you look at a Leapers mount you will notice that you can remove the mount lock down screws and flip the dovetail clamp over. The rail on the clamp that engages the dovetail sits out slightly on one side as opposed to the other. You can play with this feature as well as which side you position the mounting screws (ie-which way you have the mount facing) until you get the scope as centered as possible with the barrel. Things vary from rifle to rifle so sometimes you have to mount and un-mount the scope a bunch of times. Its a PITA but worth it in the end.

The weather is really nice right now. I think I'm gonna go home and play with the Gun That Wouldn't Zero.

Um, I did some more shooting, and it occurred to me how out of practice I am with springers (been shooting my Benji Blue Streak and my Talon mostly). I experimented a lot with the way I was holding the Gamo and was relearning the Artillery Hold. I'm gonna put the rest of the tin of pellets through it before I try to rezero and see if I can work my own jitters out before blaming the scope. I put my laser on the rifle and am using that as a training guide....

On the plus side, it is zeroed well enough to kill cans at 25 yards. I think it was Masona that said he doesn't zero for pinpoint accuracy. In that vein I had a good time yesterday.

I was shooting the Gamo and the scope stop flew off (it's one of those double screw-types with no post). So I'll assume that it wasn't on tight enough.

I CAREFULLY remounted the scope rings and scope stop and rezeroed. Seems to be working well now. I'm going to keep an eye on it (oh, and get some loctite).

Pictures soon! I promise!

Yeah. You can get a conversion kit (I think Paladin linked me to one on Cabela's site a while back when I had a question about my Marlin .22).
