I'm sure that's true but just try to get back in.
They say enhanced ID.

US Customs will accept a birth certificate and drivers license as proof of citizenship but they will bust balls if you get a hard ass official. Going into Canada you don't need a passport.

So it is Vermont then, right? That works great for me. Is this the thread to subscribe to for sign up details or will there be another official one? Looking forward to the event. (I just became a paid Guardian Member of the club by the way :yahoo: )

Okay. I was just struck with another brilliant idea.

We rent or bum either a .50 cal, S&W 500, or both. If we do it correctly, it should only cost us all maybe $10-$15 to fire them.

I really want to fire these. I missed my chance to shoot a 50 a few months ago and have been pissed since.

Any update? (So that I can start working on travel plans, and block the time off before my assistant can schedule me for a trial or something...)

Another idea- two of our local ranges offer machine gun rentals on certain days- that could be entertaining as well!

I think you can even drive through DC. You just really don't want to stop. I was going to help a friend move from MA and looked into the conceal carry reciprocity laws.

I know you can drive thru but with out of state plates your chances of being stopped are increased.

Have we settled on Vermont? (I have in-laws in CT - might be able to get SwampGrouchess to buy into the trip.)

I don't know if this has been discussed before, but has anyone mentioned Las Vegas?

There's a reason that so many conventions are there: casinos basically subsidize airfares. You can fly from just about anywhere in the us for under $400 roundtrip. In addition, there would be some side benefits:

1) a free gun state: lots of public ranges and no weapon restrictions
2) the place is littered with pawn shops...for your shopping pleasure
3) there are several large gun shows each year. This might allow some folks to sell/buy/trade. LGC could get a booth so members could swap meet. Also, if members were so inclinded, they could donate unused shooting stuff to lgc to be sold as a club fundraiser

Typically, sept - dec is the best time to go. Best also to check the convention schedule so you don't get screwed on hotel feess because the Shriners are in town.

I'd second Vegas- some great ranges there and lots of cool toys to buy

Sure isn't me, my re-route under NYS will add 45 minutes to my overall plan.

Okay, I'm curious, what re-route would allow you to avoid NYS? You can't get to VT without going thru NY unless you go by water or Canada.

Shipping ahead sounds like an option for most, if you trust shipping. Personally I'm looking forward to this.
