It's a 20 hour drive from Dallas but I've done it in 24!

Need volunteers to organize. Also we have a special guest for the new instructor course who lives that way. Stars didn't align.

Also fixed where it still said Nevada.

I can vouch for that.

I am looking at options. What time would proposed activities start on Friday? Morning or afternoon or evening? Rough times.

In the past Friday worked itself up slowly as folks got in, late afternoon early evening. Events center around eat, drink, story time.

I'm aiming to be on the ground by Friday morning and then through the next week (I'm couch crashing at my brother's).

We're still working on the agenda. Trying to arrange something shotgun-y for Friday mid afternoonish. Schedules will be posted as things gel.

Anyone coming north on the 5 earlier on Friday (or before) is welcome to join me at the Albany Rifle and Pistol Club http://www.arpc.info where I am a member. They have 50, 100, and 200 yard target set-ups on their main range, as well as some steel to shoot and a 200 yard gong. It's right off Interstate 5 and still 1.5 hours from Portland; a nice place to expend some lead and stretch the legs. :)

... I hope Iona isn't that weekend... (I may have to email the Iona dean and beg her not to schedule that weekend  )

The new contract gig has me in Eugene at some point for 2 to 3 weeks, will try to make it happen in September. ;)

We are now just a month away. I've been thinking perhaps we should be sending out press releases to the local media; KGW, KATU,KOIN,KPTV, and the Oregonian (although that paper isn't what it used to be). I could write up said releases but I'm not the best spokesman in the world; I would either be tongue tied or utterly clownish. Are there any volunteers to be the point of contact for the press? What say you?

Just registered, first time I've been able to do so! I'll be driving down from Olympia in the afternoon Friday, but at least I'll be fresh on my improvised splinting/bandaging skills

Any more details on plans for Friday? Trying to decide last minute whether to just drive down at dawn on Saturday from Seattle...

You can always refer them to Inquisitor or I if they need someone to speak with. Press releases are always good, we can cross-post them on the blog and Facebook.

On another note: Does anyone locally or that is going to the meeting have a decent quality video camera? We need to record the instructor training for nefarious purposes.
