Perhaps there could be an alternative activity scheduled for those of us that don't want to go to a hog or gator hunt, please.

Well, on account of fish and wildlife having a real “thing” about folks hunting without permits, even for nuisance animals like hogs they require you to be a state resident, I can pretty much assure you there will be no animals harmed in the making of this annual meet up.

Also, on the the subject of contingency plans- we have a couple of indoor facilities that we could make use of in the event of inclement weather. One does simunitions, the other has like 10x 100yd lanes plus a shitload of short and medium bays.

Bacchus, Quis, Driegba, shinzen, lurk, everyone that has looked at this thread, please confirm it’s ok if I push this to the second weekend in Nov, 9,10, 11?

That range looks pretty awesome.

If the mouse is one direction, I would prefer to be going the other direction. so I would say Tampa.

but as some say, "bad news comes in from Tampa..on the back of a truck, doing 90 down the interstate."

nov 9-11 is good for me.

..and the paddling tour in the swamp looks great too. as long as there are no banjos playing in the distance..

I am ok with the date change, but I still don't know if I can make it there.

So being the newbie, what's the meeting like? I assume everyone brings what they can and we lay them out for anyone to use? Stuff your own mags?

Hotel rack arrangements for those that want it and a room reserved for the evenings?

On your own or we split the range bill?

Sorry to ask, but curious.

It is an epic weekend. Everyone (locally, anyhow) brings their arsenal, we do a few structured activities, have a couple of dinners and a meeting. I will get the hotel set up as soon as I get confirmation from Universal Shooting Academy that we are good to go with renting their facility. I have a back up plan in case Universal flakes, just in case...

What 321 said. It's a lot of fun, and is a great way to meet fellow LGC folks, put faces to names, and make friends. Check out the pictures from last year's event- there were guns galore, and everyone is very nice about sharing. Many people bring guns with them, but it's not necessary. I highly recommend it and plan on being there again this year. :)

Can’t wait to see you guys again. No antagonizing the locals this time though, ok? Remember we’re the state that brought you a “not guilty” plea for George Zimmerman, may he spend eternity being sodomized a la Muammar Gaddafi just prior to execution.

That's damned funny. :) I don't know what it is about me that I attract large, aggressive, conservative types, but I'll try to behave this time. ;)

Thanks for your patience all. Itinerary as follows;

Friday 2pm-dark: Sporting clays at catfish creek (http://catfishcreeksportingclays.com/)
Saturday day: USPSA-style event at Universal Shooting Academy (also has rifle and pistol bays, for those of you not interested in action shooting) (https://universalshootingacademy.com/)
Saturday evening: annual meeting (possibly to be held at jousting and knight bashing event??? https://www.medievaltimes.com/)
Sunday morning (10AM till you carpetbaggers go home): Machine Gun America (https://machinegunamericaorlando.com/)

Not all of these people know who (the LGC) is coming to visit, so please refrain from calling and announcing our plans. I know this may seem disingenuous, but Florida is still a deep red state in most places, and i have already been flatly refused service from one facility.

Hotel Info (DO NOT MAKE RESERVATION YET, WAITING FOR GROUP CODE):
Holiday Inn Celebration ($65/NIGHT group rate):
5711 W Irlo Bronson Memorial Hwy, Kissimmee, FL 34746

Well, the range I go to has a 24 hour ammo vending machine, if that's a cosideration. :ras:
That may actually be funnier than the beer and whiskey vending machines in Japan!
