Soft small pistol primers?

1
I'm probably going to the LGS tomorrow to buy powder and primers for my .32-20. Most of the load data I've seen does not specify brand of primer, so I'm not sure which to buy, if they have multiple brands in stock.

Are the cups of all SP primers pretty similar? Since that is a low-pressure cartridge, my naive idea is that a weaker primer cup would be good, to show signs of pressure if I'm doing something excessive, but then those would be useless for, say, 9mm running at twice the pressure, right? Do you tailor the primer to the load that way, or is it one-size-fits-all?

Whatever they have will be fine. You will not see signs of high pressure on any primers until you are WAY over where you want to be for your gun. Just follow reliable (non internet) recipes.

Dick Casull said that he had blown up guns with loads that showed no signs of pressure on the primers. Reading primers is an activity for high pressure rifle loads.
