I scraped together some cash and now in my safe are:

1) New Rossi 92 20" 357. Paid $500 OTD
2) Used S&W 19-5 6" Nickel. Paid $420 OTD
That's actually not bad for those two firearms. They've been popular and will continue to be so for the foreseeable future. They should also last you a good, loooooong time. Congrats!

I weeded out my gun collection last year some to make room in the safe(s) for things I want. Unfortunately, I was laid off in June so things slowed down for a while. I'm back to work thankfully, but had to take a significant pay cut and have to get caught up on things and rebuild our savings account first!

But luckily, the future is looking bright and here is what's on my "2014-2015" list

My list includes:
- CMP M1A (or maybe a nice SA version)
- FN FAL
- S&W 460XCR 8"
- 4" S&W M686 (to compliment my 2.5" and 6" gun)
- 16-ga and 20-ga J. Steven's SxS (to compliment my 12-gauge)
- AR10 for "He-Man" division
- finish my 870 build (also for He-Man division)
- Mossberg 590A1 with bead site and threaded for chokes (I had a 590A1 but with ghost rings and sold it to a buddy)
- something purdy in 28-gauge and preferably Italian made
- Remington 700 Sendero II in 7mm Mag (every time I take out my classic, 1962-mfg'd M700 BDL I regret it... I need something I can beat up in 7mm Mag)
- lever gun in 44-Mag and maybe one in 45-70.

I also want to wrap up some projects:
- laminate stock on my Model Seven in 300 SAUM and bed the action
- Cerakote my M700 varmint 243 to match the stock (coyote tan)
- build my F-Class Open gun (I have a Tac-30 action, just need to get a barrel and cutter in 6mm BR).

Only three guns left on my "Bucket List"...one is ordered and should be here yet this week - Glock 42

The others are a Beretta Pico, which has not been released yet (I'm a whore for Berettas) and a Ruger 22/45. There is a ravaged Colt 1903 Model M in .32 at the pawn shop that my gunsmith owns. The bore is pristine and mechanically it looks to be pretty nice but the finish is trashed. If I can get that one for <$300 I'm gonna trick it out and maybe flip it. Polish out the pits and have it Cerakoted and such.

But that's just a fun trip if I can talk him out of the pistol cheap.

I'd like a Rossi 92 and one of the new Caracal pistols that don't explode. I may also get a couple of C&R guns in addition to a Mosin and a Enfield .303 Brit Rifle that will be delivered tomorrow. :bananadance:

Gonna probably sell a couple of the more soulless handguns (no, not Glocks) like the Ruger Single Six and Browning Buckmark, neither of which I never shoot anymore.

Other than that, my extra money is going into the house. Why did none of you tell me owning a house is expensive :sarcasm:
Oh dude. You're screwed. A house is ridiculous- all the little crap adds up, and forget it if you want to do any kind of remodeling.

Elmo- a CZ-75 is on my list as well. Please bring it to the next event so I can see if I really, really need it or not.

Been considering. Outside of the Garand (I plan on buying the last one, right before Auggie) :ras: the CZ or a higher end 1911 may be rising to my list. There's a pretty sweet 9mm Springfield that's on roster that has caught my eye.

I'm going to wait for a bunch of range reports of the new Remington R51... That definitely has my interest (especially for the price), but I've read some mixed things on Calguns about how it performed at shot show (granted that was also a prototype I guess)...

It's especially relevant as I'm going to try and get a CCW - both getting an easy one from Florida which I already qualify for (valid in over 30 states!) and even going to try one in CA. R51 looks like a solid and affordable CCW option, I have a LGS that does SSE also.

Does anyone know anything about the SAR arms handguns like the B6? I guess they range from like $250-295 and are basically CZ clones that are pretty much on equal footing, could be awesome deal for the price.

Damn, if I win the lottery I'd walk into a gun store like "one of everything please!" Hell, I'd buy you all guns - now I have to win according to movie logic. :P

When I was 11 years old (in like 1994) I completed a weekend hunter safety course by the Department of Fish and Game (it was a Boy Scout event). I still have my Hunter Safety Certificate which is evidently good for life. From what I could find, Florida will accept my certificate to fulfill the training requirement while Utah would not.

Obviously I'll need to still take a course to satisfy the CA requirement.. But the FL one I could apply for like right away.

Maybe you could help a brother. I'm looking at a postwar Enfield No. 4, mk1. Are these the ones made in the U.S and Canada, as opposed to UK? Are they worth considering? Seller says metal and wood are excellent and the wood is light colored, maybe like birch. He's asking $425. I have not seen it yet.

I'm new at this surplus rifle thing too but I'll share whatever little I know. The Enfield I just bought is an Ishapore No1 Mk3 Wire Wrapped .303 Brit. It was $200 on Aimsurplus (link below) but it is in pretty rough shape cosmetically. The stock wood is very banged up and dark - almost black - but the barrel, bore, and receiver seem to be in good shape without much pitting, now that the mud is off. The removable mag bottom is pretty rusty. The bolt action feels great - smooth and from what I hear, it is one of the fastest bolt actions in history. It's stamped with a 1945 production date and was made in India using UK equipment and processes, from what I read. The bolt is solidly built but a pain to take apart for cleaning without a tool. I saw a similar rifle at gun store for a little over $400.

I know this doesn't really address your question directly since the Enfield No. 4, mk1 is a different animal. All I know about it is that I saw one in excellent condition for $550 at a gun show a couple of months ago. Based on the one I have, Enfields are interesting rifles and definitely worth considering as collectibles. I haven't shot it yet so have no opinion on that.

Below are some of the sites I used for research on the Ishapore Enfield. Hope it helps. :)

I blame YOU for my latest acquisition (see the gun porn thread). Enfields are pretty neat, definitely British. And, how can you go wrong with milsurp?
Anyway, I'm stoked. I love that thing.
ps. I've never seen a rifle with more screws.

Glad to help. ;) Mine doesn't have many screws but it does have a giant Frankenstein bolt through the stock in front of the receiver. I just found some interesting facts about how my rifle may have been used. Sorry for the off-topic veer but I'm excited.

Thanks for passing this along; mmmmmm....grenade launching ability. I'm still infatuated with the Enfield I bought yesterday. I was misinformed; mine is actually a post war No.4, Mk II, not a Mk I as previously mentioned. I would imagine your rifle has a much more storied past than mine, something I find exciting likewise. But, weird as this may seem, but I derive a special kind of pleasure from pristine screws on any old firearm, so that's where I'm getting warm fuzzies with mine. Somehow, it has managed to resist Bubba for its entire life. All it takes is one screwdriver, and it's all over. :weep:
