Yes it is a long way for some of you guys but I have met guys that have come from Charlotte and Raleigh.
Best advice I can give is come Tue-Thurs. Friday and Saturday it is crowded and you might have to wait on the locals who think they have priority and "reserved" benches.

I usually go on Tue or Wed and sometimes I am the only one there for hrs. Manly retired old timers show up, some with great collections. I have shot more peoples great guns simply because I have admired their hardware.
FYI, Lots of Trump supporters but they are harmless. They used to brag about him but not so much anymore.
FYI 2 Can only shoot paper targets except for the 100 Yd rifle range there is a 12" gong set up by the range. No more tin cans or plastic jugs (they stopped that a while back)

Come and enjoy yourself I think it will be worth the trip. :welcome:

yes, retired old-timers with collections ARE manly! thank you for noticing.
i think a range trip can be arranged in a couple of weeks. early in the week

do you use facebook? there's a much larger group of us there. i prefer here, but there's very little traffic, basically me and dave.

i like to share my guns, especially the old ones. last time out the krag and trapdoor were very popular. the world is much, much more than AKs and ARs.

Weather looks kind of crappy now, may have to postpone to tomorrow.

I am only 20 minutes from Ellerbe range so I can run over any time to meet some of you" free thinkers with guns"

Leave a message here when you plan on making the trip.

Hey BigOnion!
Why not try and meet us all at Uwharrie, this Saturday. It's a little bit of a haul for all of us, but it's central to the current group of people. We can always use another fellow traveller. Just pick up a day pass for $3 at the outfitters around the entrance.

Sorry I can't make it this weekend -- gotta deal with some livestock and hopefully get a couple sheep in the freezer -- but I'd love to make it out to the next meet up! Uwharrie's actually not too far (just about an hour?) so if that's the usual spot it ain't too bad of a trek.

Just submitted a request to join the FB group. Thanks for the link! If things change, though, I'll make the trip out, for sure.

couple of us go to flintlock valley (or other places) every month or so, just 'cause. if we plan to go we'll likely announce a week or so in advance, here and/or FB. feel free to connect up if it works for you.
