I posted a link to a series of youtube vids from a program from the late 60s that follows him start to finish a rifle he made from total scratch. If you like what you saw here you will really like that. He makes his own barrel in that one.

Thanks for that link. I went and watched it, some amazing craftsmanship. It would be a delight to hold and fire such a rifle even once, much less to own one.
