I need to play Morrowind again, I never beat it the first time I played it.

But man, you just never, ever ever ran out of quests. I never saw the whole map, never went everywhere, and had dozens of quests started that I had no idea where I was going, who I needed to talk to, or what my objective was. There was always something new, someone new, and more to do. The only thing was it felt like there weren't enough weapons and armor. Pretty early on it seems like you find the best stuff in every class and weight, and you just have to stick with it, or pick something weaker that looks cooler.
when you get stuck, come ask us, we can help. yes, it's hard to stay focused, there's so much to do, some of it not obvious. there's an ebony shortsword for the taking if you know where and how to look, and there's a glass dagger in suran for cheap, cheap, cheap. early in the game, save often and stay out of caves and crypts.

I have Forza Horizon 3, I think it is. Here is my issue with the Forza series. The automobile physics are not realistic. It's more arcade-style, and that's okay if that's your preference. Project Cars 2 has more realistic driving dynamics than the Forza series, which is my preference. I use a Logitech wheel and pedal system with a clutch pedal mounted to a steel WheelStand Pro to increase the realism factor. And I use the inside the cockpit driving view which is also more realistic than the chase view (camera outside and behind the car) popular with arcade style racing games.

Morning folks,
I would like to throw a mention to "Escape from Tarkov"
It's in beta development and it's Russian, so choose your password carefully.
But it is an excellent and super duper stressful FPS with modular weapon platforms and continuous inventory. They've put a ton of work into sound design and into physics (bullet drop, fragmentation, that sort of thing)
For a gun nut, it's a super neat game. Nothing quite freaks me out like that game, and I have to say I love it.
I mean, it's got a giant learning curve and it's broken because it's still being developed, but cannot recommend it enough, especially in the case that you like hating yourself.
GLHF,
-Tof.

Onimusha: Warlords was rereleased this week. It's just $20 to replay one of the best games from the PS2.

As someone who wants to see the sequels get updated as well, I bought a second copy to give as a gift, I hope some of you will do the same.

tonight i found my morrowind install disc, so i plugged in the USB cdrom drive to my rca cambio laptop/tablet and loaded it up, and it runs! i have the POWER!
two issues.
since the cdrom needs to be connected to run ES3 and there's only the 1 usb port, no mouse until i find my usb hub which is around here somewhere.
i briefly saw a cryptic message that the screen resolution was incompatible or some such, and then the display flipped sideways, so now i've got this crick in my neck.
so i've got a khajiiti scout standing sideways outside the census and excise office in seyda neen. look out, dagoth ur, i'm comin for ya!

Gogle "Morrowind no disk crack"

The game even runs better without the disk.

If you want to play Morrowind, then head over to gog.com and get the digital version with all the expansions. It's $15 but well worth it.

https://www.gog.com/game/the_elder_scro ... ty_edition

Then, of course, load up on mods! I recommend the entire Less Generic NPC series for a start, as they really make the world come alive.

And if I may, I also recommend Moriel's Balmora Apartment mod. I'm Moriel - I made this. It's my one and only game mod. It's just a small one room apartment in Balmora that you can rent on a monthly basis, and it has an optional pet that you can obtain.

Rogue: I re-wrote parts of Rogue in 1980 to work on a special terminal for a partially blind grad student. 32,000 lines of source code but a single output module so all the display changes were in one file. A I recall, we used BLET to cover from normal sized to BIG characters, and of course, we had to make a scroll feature.

Also, I played Pong once - fun game.

fired up the lappy/tablet again, this time with the cdrom and mouse running thru the usb hub. started morrowind, checked the resolution, reselected 1024x768. it runs fine, a little laggy but not bad. i'm determined to play differently this time, so i picked up some of the stuff in the hollow logs, equipped myself at arille's and walked over the ridge and straight into pelagiad. usually i either walk the west coast or go straight up the odai or via siltstrider to balmora, but no, not this time! :wall:

thanks for this, but...
i used to be a big fan of mods, but lately i've been running plain vanilla. a lot of mods, while visually or conceptually stunning, just don't appeal to me. nevena's twin lamps slave thingie, for example, very rewarding to liberate slaves and lead them across vvardenfell to freedom, but also tedious. pets, companions, all very fun but but eventually burdensome. "you have the key, will you unlock the bracers?" i'm perfectly content to sleep out in the ash, among the scrib and cliff racers.

Anyone ever notice how bad games are at gun related anything? I've been playing one of the Tomb Raider games, and one of the upgrades for the 1911 is polishing the magazines for faster reloads. I saw that and was sitting there like this

The mag polishing to me was hilarious.

Is anyone going to be playing the new division game?

Played the first one right into the ground. Ubisoft needs a better model for endgame and longevity. Playing the same missions for miniscule reward is not something I like to spend my freetime these days.

That said, been playing Apex Legends. Free is good.

The new one had a lot of focus on end game. With more variable content. I tried Apex legend for about an hour, I thought it was great. I just came keep up with the younger crowd as well anymore.

i just watched the legends intro and found it odd that you've got a frigging jetpak and yet you're scrounging ammo, guns and armor from the very beginning? who planned this mission, anyway?
i'm such a curmudgeon. :(

lately i'm playing elder scrolls 4, oblivion. this is the third or fourth time i've played it, unlike morrowind which i've played through dozens of times. i find oblivion a little off-putting, from the "improved" faces to the shopping hour limitations and the humanization of the beast races. i'm not really a cat person in real life, but i mostly play khajiit, and the changes to head and feet (boots and helms) add little or nothing to gameplay.
i'm running exactly 1 mod, the "Bag of Holding" which saves me from having to run back to town every half hour to wait 6 or 8 hours for the merchants to open, or leave perfectly good loot on the ground, where it may or may not be if and when i return. at least they made quest items weightless which is good if you're going to force me to carry them around.

i'm presently a 26th level scout, and have not been to kvatch (main quest) yet. i may do that fairly soon, as beating up goblins, liches, zombies, bandits and marauders is getting monotonous, and i can't imagine that more gold will make much difference. light armor, alchemy and armorer are maxed. i have a full set of daedric armor in the BOH, might start swapping it on to build endurance. i'm looking for the last batch of nirnroot for sinderion, though i have no use for his potions. i do the occasional mage and fighter guild missions, but haven't made an effort to progress in them. overall, i've just never found oblivion that engaging.

at some point i'll see if it will run on my RCA tablet. morrowind does.

I hear you about Oblivion not being as engaging. One thing I intensely dislike about it is that the main quest start immediately. (Skyrim does this too.) In Morrowind, you never even have to start the quest at all, which give you a chance to just wander around and get to know thje land and the people before you start on the world shattering events. I wish Oblivion had done that. I've love to have seen Kvatch as a living city and met Martin as just a humble acolyte. It would have made the fall of Kvatch much more meaningful and impactful.

kvatch is weird. i've given it a wide berth to avoid the whole oblivion gate thing, but i've seen it from a distance and it looks like a substantial walled city. now you've got me wondering just how close i can get from the north without starting the oblivion gates? yes it would have seemed more real if i could have seen it before all heck breaks loose.

I tried the last one as it was on game pass, I think. I couldn’t get into it. Maybe I’ll try this one, when it shows up on gp.

Mostly I play racing sims and older shooters where the price has come down and they have a single player campaign. My spouse and I also play rpgs as a team and have hundreds of hours in games like oblivion, the fallouts, Skyrim, mass effect (all) etc. borderlands too, whatever niche that lands inwe just got the red dead redemption game, though I mostly got that for my spouse (the best natural gamer I’ve ever seen) so I can enjoy the graphics and story.

Probably will get anthem when cheap. We were disappointed in the last mass effect game, though we still played it a lot.

I don't have a gaming laptop and I'm running windows 10. :(

But Neverwinter Nights was re-released on Android and I'm working on getting it running on my computer using an Android emulator. I'm hopefull...there were a lot of good games made by the modding community, including some ports on PnP D&D modules.

I'd somehow never noticed this thread. I haven't done much/any gaming in several years, just don't seem to have the time. And honestly, I'd rather use my spare time outside.

Someone mentioned The Last of Us. This is the only console game that ever kept me engaged until the end. Great stuff. I'd like to like the first person shooter games, but my, ehm, joystick "skills" just aren't up to snuff.

I was more into PC-based roll play like Baldur's Gate and Dragon Age. I'd tried Scrim, but couldn't ever seem to devote the time to progressing it much. The Mass Effect games were pretty cool also. Maybe someday I'll have the time again...
