This tractor has been extremely useful and very reliable. I've been able to mow my fields keeping them from getting over grown with scrub and reclaim land that had been let go by the previous owner.

It's small and has its limits but I'm not a real farmer anyways. I even use it in the winter with a 60-40 fuel blend and it starts in sub zero temps. My grand kids love riding on it and my dogs like it too.

Love it! My mom's place north of town has a couple of acres of field grass that needs mowing once or twice a year. I was thinking of getting a tractor for this job, plus the odd grading project, mulch moving, etc. That looks like the perfect size. Kubotas are popular here, as are John Deeres. Nice job on that boom- looks original. :)

It came with a back blade that I use for grading my drive way in the summer and with the front end loader to plow snow in the winter, not perfect but since I'm retired and rarely need to go quickly the extra time to do the winter chore matters little. As for mowing I use the King Kutter hanging from the boom to mow about 15 acres of field, takes a little over 3 hours to do. Next fab project will be a set of quick attach brush forks for the front end loader.

Nice tractor and it's very versatile. A co-worker moved from down here to northern Montana and the house they bought came with a tractor to plow the driveway out to the state highway. The price of living in the country.

I feel for you, 15 acres is a lot to maintain, ever consider discing it? It's what we did when I was growing up in No Cal. Do you have your own range there?

Awright! Some tractor porn...

We have about 7 acres total including a pond that is a little less than an acre and about an acre including the house, barn and coop and surrounding yards, gardens, etc. The remaining five are pasture for the horses. I mow the lawns, etc with a John Deere riding mower and a Husky push mower. The pasture gets mowed with my tractor. The latter is about 20 year old JD with a three cylinder diesel and a 60 inch deck and loader.

It takes me about 10 hours to mow everything and trim around the pond and the fence lines. Usually, this is almost meditative for me but, with all the rain this year, it seems like I never stop mowing and it stresses me out.

Here’s the tractor. I do love it.

Your 770 seems like just an older version of my 1025r, I put a tooth bar on my bucket in the summer and it not only makes digging in dirt and manure easier but will also pop fairly large rocks out of the ground. They keep popping up like acne every spring.

You need a 3 point drawbar on that 770. It's handy to turn a 2 wheel trailer into a dump trailer and keeps the wagon further back for better turning radius.

Our tractors were much bigger so we only used the bar, you may need a hitch adapter to connect the 3rd point.

Our smaller utility tractor was a 1952 Ford. That and the John Deer A were the only 2 that ran on gas.

Good suggestions! Thanks.

I use it mostly for mowing, dragging, a little loading, and the occasional pulling up a fence post or two.

Our property is the remnant of a 240 acre farm and orchard that was first farmed c. 1865, two years after the battle of Gettysburg. We have documentation that the barn was raised on June 13 of that year so, In week or so, it will be 153 years old. Not ancient by any means, but pretty cool.

No pix today, but a '48 8N lives here. Has a hydraulic loader up front.

I made up adapters for 10-bolt Budds & 14.00R-20's on the rear, cheaper than the farm tires and better around here for working.

When we bought our land about 5o years ago we insisted the old farmer throw in his 9N Ford. I struggled to keep it going until about 10 year ago when my wife got one of those John Deeres. She uses it to do prairie restoration. What a pleasure it is to have a modern, easy to start tractor.

I'm not sure if John Deere makes the best tractors, but they seem to be very good and the local dealer in Moose Lake sells and services them. The amount of attachments available that are so easy to attach is staggering, I could easily double my investment without even trying very hard. Right now I'm just concentrating on what I can fab myself.

How did I miss this? I got a tractor last spring, and I'm still learning about all the things I can do with it.

Aww jeez, I love me some tractor porn. And you have a front end loader, I'm experiencing tractor envy.

I have a new fab project coming up. I got an old manure bucket for cheap that I'm going to modify into a quick attach brush fork. I have the tractor plugged in right now, going to get close to 8"s of windblown snow tonight, I'll have about 3 hours of snow clearing tomorrow.
