Cowboy T's questions about access to the wide open rangea of Texas during the annual meeting had we wonder about pig hunting.
There are hunting and shooting rules here so its not exactly anything goes. The link above has a lot of options for paid outings for the whole state. I'll keep googling for anything that looks affordable and low hassle so those who want to get their cowboy on while they are visiting this gun owners paradise.

Texas doesn't have rules, we have the Ten Commandments of shooting. That's marketing.

3A lot of people like http://www.dosplumashuntingranch.com/
The drawbacks for some is that they do not allow assault weapons, per their website. Also, the owner has stated to me in the past that the ranch is much better known as a meat hunt as opposed to trophy quality.
I also have read good reviews on the Langley Ranch http://www.texaswildhoghunting.com/services.html
Some may not like their 243cal minimum. I like the fact your party is the only one there and they don't require a deposit (which is practically unheard of). I have no idea if this is high fence and how many acres.
The prices for the accomodations are more than fair imo

47.62x54R works just fine to harvest bacon.
In a bacon, egg and cheese sandwich the chicken and cow are involved while the pig is committed.

5My brother and I might be up for one of those hog hunts in the spring. Thanks for the info.

7The Ted's favorite. He thinks it's cool since he missed Vietnam. I think they should let the hogs shoot back.

I wonder what the reaction of the TSA would be to a freezer full of pig meat in checked baggage?

9Given that Lone Star Gun Range is right next to Toll Road 130
and that feral pigs are causing accidents on the fastest toll road in America

we should just set up by the highway and wait

10The main problem is being in the know of land owners who have available hunting leases. Texas P&W have a running list, but other than that, it may take some doing to secure something.
