Like this old side opening one:

can hold 48 boxes of 20 rounds of 7.62x39. Here it is with 46 boxes...

Just thought it was fun to note this. With the rest of my ammo on stripper clips or expensive Fusion hunting ammo, I've got just about 1200 rounds of SKS boom smoke. Not a lot by some standards but I've never had that much stockpiled before

I haven't weighed it but it is _heavy_. Hmm. (click click click) Can is about 5 lbs. Box of Tul is .8 lbs so 46 * .8 + 5 =41.8 so, yeah, that's a good ball park idea. Good for going out to the car, not good for putting in back pack to tromp through the woods...

Does make me wish it were brass cased rather than steel. Be nice to have that much _and_ have it be reloadable.

I did pick up another box of Federal Fusion today - 123 gr JSP that is brass cased and is supposed to be one of the best commercial loads for it. I know I like the way it shoots to the same POI as the cheap Tulammo FMJ. $22 a box as opposed to $6 for the Russian though
