Don't have a Mosin (yet) but I went on ammoseek and searched for this round... Wtf the cheapest being at 44 cents a round and that's not including shipping either. But this was like silver bear or wolf or something, no surplus listed.
Dangit looks like if I ever do get that Mosin I will have to reload for it. Where does one find cheap 311 diam projectiles even?
Re: Did surplus 7.62x54r dry up?
2It's out there. Bunch for sale today on gunboards. I have a few surplus rounds for my Mosins, but loading for them gives me better results.

3Huh. Looks like the Russian import ban may have dried up the surplus. Poly gun bag has pulled bullets though http://www.polygunbag.com/bullets.html

5Looks like there's a fair amount up on Calguns at the moment, some at reasonable prices.
Re: Did surplus 7.62x54r dry up?
6I have a packet of surplus ammo if you're into that whole corrosive powder thing.
I will let it go for cheap.
Sold my M38 carbine and Nagant revolver for about 40% more than I bought them for. Only time I made a profit selling guns.
Even broke even on the beat up old m91/30. Russian guns are definitely a hot item on the firearms market due to the embargo.
Thanks Obama!

7...was cleaning my range bag last night and found seven rounds from five different manufacturers. See? It's still out there.

8Great, so all I need to do now is get access to CDFinger's range bag. Should have thought of that one years ago! =)

10The answer appears to be 'yes'....mostly.
