.380 with the chrono

Just some chrono results after going to the range today. Mostly 380 but a few other calibers.

.380, shot from a FEG AP9 - 4" barrel.

Average of 4-5 shots.

Silver Bear (Barnaul Russian) FMJ 94gr - 880fps
Fiocchi XTPHP 90gr made in USA - 910fps
Fiocchi FMJ 95gr made in Italy - 960fps
Remington 95gr FMJ L380AP - 980fps

This next one stung my hand when I shot it and one look at the chrono number and I knew why

TulAmmo (Tula Яussian) 91gr FMJ - 1080fps! So about 230ft/lbs or 15% higher than any of the rest.. This stuff was $12/50.

.38 spl
Out of a Model 64 4" barrel - Federal 158gr HPSWC +P (old duty ammo) 890fps (5 shot string was high of 917, low of 880 and the rest within 7fps of 890)

9mm Luger
Out of a Walther P1 - 4.9" barrel - Herters 115gr FMJ (made in Czech so pretty sure it's actually L&B) - 1160fps

9mm Mak
Out of a Norinco Pistolet Makarova 3.7" barrel - Silver Bear 94gr HP - 980fps
When only cops have guns, it's called a police state.
I carry due to toxic masculinity.......just other people's.

It's interesting to compare your .380 numbers with those published by the manufacturers:
Fiocchi XTPHP 90gr made in USA - 1000fps
Fiocchi FMJ 95gr made in Italy - 1000fps
Remington 95gr FMJ L380AP - 955fps
What are your standard deviations? Are these differences between your numbers and Fiocchi's statistically significant?

To get accurate standard deviations, you need about 30 points of data. :evo: Sorry, you are talking to a statistician. Range is more meaningful with small samples and I didn't record that, except for the Federal .38, which is reported because it was so much smaller in spread than any of the others. IIRC the rest were at least twice as wide.
