It's an odd-numbered year, and that means a big Pink salmon run here. I'll have to go out in my kayak in late summer and try yet again. I fished a half-dozen days in 2015. One website I found said "If you can't catch pinks, you probably shouldn't be fishing." I think they were talking about me. :|

I did hook a tiny juvenile ling cod. The last time I caught a keeper was years ago in Barkley Sound.

I'm only killing paper and my self-esteem.

Here's a dandy musky caught in one of the places I used to keep my barges & workboats at:

There's a good write-up at the above link, take a look.

Joe Gensini with the musky he landed while fishing for smallmouth bass in Green Bay.

My cousin used to have a cottage right there, complete w/ nice long jetty/ breakwall sticking way out in the bay.
Walleye fishing right straight off the end of it (at the right time) would produce loads covering the wheel wells...
Back in the "old daze" some of the old timers would recount sights of "sturgeon stacked on the docks like cordwood".
Years later live carp were fished & "warehoused" there, trucked live to Chicago in huge tanker trucks.

do tell. i've been looking at kayaks lately.
I bought the kayak on sale for around $175 and added an anchor system two cleats and handles on the sides if the cockpit that also serve as elastic paddle holders. The rod holders are flush mounted behind the seat. One has a rod in it in the picture. A one and half pound anchor and about 30 feet of nylon rope finished out the additions. I did have a road holder that attached temporarily and allowed trolling, but I think I left that with a previous version of the kayak.

I absolutely love bow fishing! It's an exhilarating experience to be out there in the water, stalking your prey and then taking them down with a well-placed arrow. I've had some great days out bow fishing, and I always look forward to getting back out there and doing it again. There's just something about bowfishing that gets my blood pumping.
