The Nagant talk here finally got to me. I fought it because who in their right mind would want an old WWII rifle except as a boat anchor? But the price was cheap, I paid some hack to choose the best out of five(the five could be previous boat anchors)and they are supposedly in excellent condition as finished by the 'factory' It is the standard 91 30 model with bayonet and some other goodies.

So it is about to be on its way along with one of those rusty sardine cans of ammo.

Pictures to follow.

at $250 out the door with 880 rounds of ammo, the nagant can very much be addictive. It's cheap a .30-06 bolt action, so it's fun as hell to shoot.

OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOh. a fur hat! Real fur just for PETA, lol. Especially one with the feet still attached.

Actually I paid $119 for the Nagant and $94 for 440 rounds so thought that would be some cheap thrills.

Hopefully by the end of next week, I'll be an honorary comrad in a fur hat!

The Nagant is the revolver.

Image

The rifles are Mosin Nagants. They do shoot a .30 projectile, but the ballistics are closer to the .308 than to the .30-06.

They're fun guns, inexpensive and rugged. There are many models to collect. Betchya can't buy just one...

Beware the Finns.

Agreed. I'm looking for a 1930 Tula Nagant to go with my 1930 Tula hex 91/30. I've got some gear, too, so I'm composing a photo in my head...

G&G, retirement means that you just have to justify expenses, not need/want. ;)

Yeah, I'm not really helping, am I.

CD : I believe, in the spirit of the motherland correctness, they refer to both as "Nagants", at least over there.

Fukshot : they only have those hats in M and my thinking head is large

Some crazy group around the WWII incarnation of the Brown Bess.

Put a fusee inside the breech, close the bolt load black powder down the bore, a .30 cal ball and voila.

I am drooling in anticipation(maybe i should save the drool and use it to clean out the croosive salts?

Stay posted

That is cheap!

But if you read the fine print, they are made with fake fur. PETA approved!

Capitalist dog give hat one-star review:

Quote:
It's NOT an original army hat. very low quality. I wear it for 2 weeks and the hat is falling apart! The sawing areas are ripped all around! I don't recommend this cheap hat!!!

Even the non- corrosive ( well, it's a little corrosive ) Wolf and Brown Bear ammo is cheap- less than any other comparable caliber.
The Russians make in huge quantities and pass savings on to you, Amerikanski Konsumer.
