When I was young and learning to build rifles, the 'smith I worked for had one of those in .30 Rem. We took it to his private range and used it as a "plinker." We shot it out to 300 yards and that was about its limit. It was a lot of fun to shoot but you aren't going to break any records for group sizes with it. A friend of mine who is a retired custom gun builder in New Mexico also has one. He keeps it in his pick-up truck and he's killed both deer and antelope with it. It is really just a "fun gun" but they are fun.

The Remingtons did have their own clips, but I found that M14 clips worked fine, so that’s what I used. The Remington specific ones are about $50 each at this point, when you can find them.
