Range report Mosin Nagant 91/30 PU sniper

I had previously zeroed by mathematics and verified zero on the range, but hadn't had the time to shoot this one.

Today I had the opportunity to take it out for 40 rounds. A friend and I were shooting the Springfield 1903A3 and this, a 1943 Tula manufactured Mosin Nagant 91/30 PU sniper.

We put the target out at 75 yards. The first magazine was just to get used to the trigger, the 1903 has a shorter and lighter trigger than the Russian beast.

This was in in my better groups. In all my groups (minus the first) were 2 inch diameters or less.

Using math and a laser, the scope was significantly off. It was set to hit high and left. Once I got it on, in had to adjust the turrets to read at 100.

I have found that Red Army Standard fits two criteria for ammo, consistent and inexpensive, relatively inexpensive. I shoot 148grain FMJ.

The scope is an original, the rifle is Arsenal refurbished. It is the standard 4.5 power.
