Flyover states

The idea is within an 8 hour drive of Chicago, and trying to get meetups going.

Not a formal chapter but rather a hookup/lookup place. The state list looks like this:

IL, MO, NE, IA, SD, ND (far, but no one else serving them), MN, WI, IN, OH, MI, PA, NY, WV, KY, TN.

The idea is within an 8 hour drive of Chicago, and trying to get meetups going. So we will be attempting to pull people a little farther away than that if we have some interest for example in going to Camp Perry, which is is on Lake Erie in Ohio. So in that case NY, PA, WV, OH, IN, KY, and MI might be most likely to come, but we might pull someone from MN looking for an M1.

So this isn't going to be it's own chapter (I think) but rather a hookup/lookup place. The state list looks like this:

IL, MO, NE, IA, SD, ND (far, but no one else serving them), MN, WI, IN, OH, MI, PA, NY, WV, KY, TN.

If we get some Ontario types, them too. Taking a rifle into Canada isn't hard, handguns impossible, not sure about the other direction.

If I take an SKS into Canada, do you think they would notice if it went there speaking Chinese and came back speaking Russian? They probably pay close attention to that sort of thing. :(

There are several flyover areas. You could have an eastern group and a western group, divided by time zones. Then north and south. Here's how the US census divides the country.

Added that to the description. Maybe I should just say "stuck in the middle with you"?

Well if you give us AL, then we'll have the CMP stuff sewed up. :beer2: While your at it add MS to round things out.

I don't think we want to divide the area up, even though there's a lot of it. We want to promote stuff in those areas that are sparse, let people met, because the most amazing thing is to meet someone in person, you already know.

Yep, Canadians. My neighbors, co-workers (Windsor is a border city to Detroit) fishing buddies, sometimes hunting too.
Come to a Nascar race at Michigan International Speedway or a Hockey game here, you'll hear both national anthems.
Good folk

Like I've said though, don't order the poutine. Limp overcooked soggy french fries, cheese curds covered in gravy.

I'm in South Bend, IN, right across the state line from Michigan.

It's one of the flyoverest towns, one of the rustiest of the rust belt. It hasn't completely recovered from the death of Studebaker. If not for Notre Dame it would have turned into Gary a long time ago. The city itself is solidly Dem though, surrounded by entire counties of Repubs.

I'm retiring this year from corporate America. I will have time on my hands to do stuff. I'd love to help start a PA chapter. What is involved, and who do I need to talk to?
