I was struggling between getting a kit gun revolver or a Buck Mark. Decided on the Buck Mark for a variety of reasons, not least of which is that I can mount an optic on it, which would be fun.
For $35 more, I went with the stainless version. Hopefully I'll be shooting it in a couple of weeks.
Going to add a rail with integrated rear sight so I can shoot irons or optics back-and-forth.
Thanks for all your help in making my decision!

2Mmmm...pretty. Can't wait till you give us a range report.

3Congrats, will this be your only .22 pistol?

Re: Browning Buck Mark inbound!
4I have a Phoenix pocket gun and a 22lr bolt rifle...that's the extent of my current rimfire guns.
Re: Browning Buck Mark inbound!
5BTW, this is the most I've ever paid for a firearm (the AR doesn't count, as I put that together over several months). Trying to decrease the number in my stable and increase their quality. I get to shoot so little, I'd like to have a handful of really nice guns.
Re: Browning Buck Mark inbound!
6Congrats! Now waiting 'til its out of jail right?
I rented a Buckmark once and it shot very well. It certainly didn't cough up at the cheap ammo that I gave it.
SS is a plus in my eyes as well =)

8Going to get rid of the Phoenix? Or is it still just too much fun?

Re: Browning Buck Mark inbound!
9I like the Phoenix. I'd prefer a PPK, but that's not in the cards.
Re: Browning Buck Mark inbound!
10I wanted one of those for ages. Got a Bersa instead. Even though the PPK has a certain James Bond cool factor, the Bersa is much nicer to shoot.PPK

Re: Browning Buck Mark inbound!
12Off roster and crazy expensive. My LGS has one on consignment for $1500. Not going to happen until the roster goes away or I can find a 50-year-old exempt one from out of state.
Re: Browning Buck Mark inbound!
13That roster business is so crazy. It actually keeps me from considering any job in California.

14Well you could become a cop, bodyguard, or armored car driver, 01FFL, they're exempt. Or just give $100,000 to your local sheriff's re-election campaign. Not only might you get exempted *wink-wink nudge nudge, but you'll probably also get a CCW license easily as well!KnightsFan wrote:That roster business is so crazy. Re: Browning Buck Mark inbound!
15Alternatively, purchase any handguns you want before you move here. Anything you decide you don't want any more later on you'll be able to sell pretty easily. But getting anything you want once you're here is tough.
Re: Browning Buck Mark inbound!
16Yup. I'm buying another handgun as my next purchase...trying to get as many as possible before they're not available anymore.
Re: Browning Buck Mark inbound!
17I keep trying not to panic buy, but am really tempted to. Problem is there are several that I can still get that I want, so am a little stuck on which one. It will probably be the Springfield 1911.
Re: Browning Buck Mark inbound!
19Don't worry, that's my plan if I ever have to move. It's just too bad that doesn't work on EBRs.shinzen wrote:Alternatively, purchase any handguns you want before you move here. Re: Browning Buck Mark inbound!
20Sure it does. Just make sure you put bullet buttons on them and they are fine. For the moment anyway. (Unless you happen to have one of the specifically named EBR's, then it get's a little more dicey)KnightsFan wrote:Don't worry, that's my plan if I ever have to move. Re: Browning Buck Mark inbound!
21I think I'm good on handguns - the Buckmark and the Shield filled in the potential holes I might have in the future. But that was my thinking that lead up to buying them, right around when the Rugers went off roster.

23Exactly my thoughts as well. It will look even more blaster-like with an optic on top!
Re: Browning Buck Mark inbound!
24I did the paperwork today. It's much more gorgeous in person. The grips are magnificent. Fit and finish are amazing.
Here's a better stock photo of this model. My grips are actually nicer than these.
Can't wait to shoot it!
