The revolvers have a stiff trigger and lack some of the fit & finish of SWs (especially earlier models than the current generation) or Colts. After installing reduced springs, my GP100 has a good trigger. They are certainly as accurate and as reliable as other revolvers and I like the push-button cylinder release and the old style wood-in-rubber grips. Also, because they are less expensive than S&W and similar autopistols, they have the perception of being "down market," so they lose prestige there.
Yet she persisted.
