Made my first purchase of the year. Just won an auction on GunBroker.
4" EAA Windicator revolver in .357 . Blued finish. I enjoy the revolvers and look forward to trying this one.
Report to follow.

2I have not shot one but fondled one at an LGS. Petty nice, as I recall. Nice trigger and tight lock-up. Some sharp edges and kind of an unfinished look. Your impressions will be interesting.

3Congrats on the buy. But remember you didn't get it unless you show a picture.

4Revovler was delivered to the FFL yesterday. (I paid by USPS money order to avoid 3% CC fees).
Gave her a good clean. Feels good in the hand and action seems very good. Trigger in DA was very smooth unlike my Taurus revolvers.
Planning a range trip tomorrow with some 38 special ammo I have laying around. Will post pics after.

6A very fine lookign handgun for sure.
First few rounds at 10-12 feet off hand. Also a group at the same distance in single action. (Can you spot the flyer).
Will post more later. Did not want to leave folks hanging...

Re: First purchase of the year: EAA Windicator .357 Mag Revolver
7The revolver was purchased sight unseen. Never seen one in the wild around here, but had read good reviews online. So I put in a bid and it was mine. All said and done it set me back about three and a half notes.
Revolver comes in an inexpensive plastic case with a manual. Not sure if the lock was supplied by EAA or by the GB seller.
These revolvers are made in Germany, and imported by EAA based in FL. Fit and finish is about what one can expect for a revolver in that price range. I was expecting something a bit rough - but it surpassed my expectations.
Lockup is very tight. Action while smooth, does seem to have a heavy pull in double action. Another 100 rounds and that should be a bit better I would think. Single action is very crisp and smooth.
At this price sights are what one can expect: fixed and they do the job. Grips are good and I shot mostly 130 gr RN 38 special ammo. Recoil was non-existent. I need to work on my double action shooting. Will return to the range on Monday or next week with a colleague and put more ammo through this revolver.

8That looks smoother than I remember. They used to have a front sight that looked like the tailend of a windmill and the finish was like shinola but not as fancy. Practice will turn it into a keeper.

10Slung another 50 rounds through it last week. Almost all in double action. Seems to be working OK so far!

12Nice looking pistoli, this one has "been on the list" since I saw one out at the LGC, didn't shoot it but the owner let me look at it.
Hefty piece the snub-nose weighs in at 28.8 oz. that's almost 2 more that a Ruger SP-101.
That's some good shooting.

13Double Action needs some work.
Single action, OTOH, is working well for me.
I'd say this pistola is ready for some home defense duty.

15Great shooting and congratulations!
Keep practicing double action. Sometimes you don't have a chance to cock the hammer.

16I absolutely hate the trigger on the Windicator, but I'm comparing it to a 1970s smith, so that might not be fair.

17Yeah, not fair.NegativeApproach wrote: Tue Jul 10, 2018 1:49 pm I absolutely hate the trigger on the Windicator, but I'm comparing it to a 1970s smith, so that might not be fair.
I had no idea what I was missing until I bought my first Smith. I am sure the Windicator is just fine for its intended purpose.
