Gaugemate: Incredibly clever or incredibly stupid?

Does anybody have any experience with Gaugemate shotgun chamber inserts?

You put one in your 12g breakopen or pump shotgun and it allows you to fire a smaller round. Not only 20g, 28g, and .410, but also pistol rounds like .45 ACP, 9mm, and .22lr.

Clever or stupid? I guess the answer lies in whether you can actually hit anything with the pistol rounds.

EAA deals in Baikal now. The one I bought was sold by Remington as a Spartan brand.

The inserts at face value sound like a swell deal. Reading various forums the complaint I kept seeing was getting the barrels aligned.
