1500 for a replica trench gun? That seems reasonable.

In my never ending quest for a trench gun, I cam across this.http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewIt ... =418260495

So 1500 for a replica. It was bad enough I had to take blood pressure medicine because the original trench guns are so outrageous. I don't think of myself as cheap but gun prices are getting steep. Am I alone on this?

Wow. $1500 for a $350 shotgun with a $35 shroud. Yikes.

Ok, was off a bit, with the bayonet attachment it's more, but still.

Gets you a replica for $800 less when you factor in all the other little pieces.

A Chinese '97 clone or an original Winchester '97 or an appropriate Ithaca 37 or Winchester model 12 in cosmetically rough but good functional shape should cost you solidly less than $400

$1500 seems steep

:roflmao: Shinzen!
Great minds or something along those lines

Still it is close. I guess a schmuck somewhere will get taken.

Thanks! I have the time and place to do it now. Guess I never really thought about it. I can get tunnel vision. To the Cajun Cave!

Ok this guy wants 800 for the Chinese model. Judging by the hat I think he is drunk..http://classicoldwestarms.com/iac-m-189 ... n-sn-0362/

This is actually pretty neat and cheap..http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewIt ... 538641#PIC
Might end up getting that.

This is bad ass and if I wasn't saving for a motorcycle I would jump on it! Plus it is close to my house so I could pick it up. http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewIt ... =418322302

Hell, if you can find a Ithaca 37 DSPS, which will have the 20 inch barrel and extended (7+1) magazine, you're more than half way there. Expect to pay $500-800, but then you can do all the same tricks this guy did, and come out a good bit cheaper, especially if you can refinish the stock, and repark the metal yourself. Seems like a fun project. I have a DSPS; might make a good project.....

Edit: oops, I see his is based on 5+1 mag, which are actually pretty plentiful since they were widely used by popos. Still, a very doable project.

I didn't see that and now the price makes sense
