The wood must have been replaced, shellacked or something. The butt and forearm are sweeet.
The forcing cone is the most subtle I've ever seen on a 12g. A modern 2.25" shell chambers.
So- how light of loads should I use in this old timer?

4Almost a year later I finally got to the range. Estate loads 1 1/8oz, 8 shot.
-Pretty nice triggers and tight. It showed a fist-size concentration at 15 yards. I didn't bring any large paper to see how it patterns at a greater distance.
One thing I noticed is that when it's loaded and closed it's ready to fire. My newer SXSs default to Safe. Damn nanny state.

Puffing up is no substitute for smarts but it's a common home remedy
