It Pays to Check...

Haven't shot the Canadian Belle yet; I had a suspicion that it was chambered for 12-gauge 2-1/2" and wanted to find out for sure. Had the chance to drop by Pinto's today and run a chamber-gauge into it. Yep, 2-1/2 inches.
Sure, it's pretty beefy and I could probably get away with shooting 2-3/4" shells, but I'm not a big fan of 'probably,' especially when it comes to things containing an explosion inches from my face.
Fortunately my press can be adjusted to accommodate 2-1/2" shells, so it's all good.

Nothing wrong with siding on the side of caution.

How long is that barrel? Looks like a beauty!

The simple twist-pattern barrels are 30 inches, both with a 'Modified Choke' suited to it's role as a shot-and-ball gun. Made in Belgium by United Arms Manufacturers Liege, this was an 'economy gun,' placed a step above 'hardware-store' guns. As such there are tool marks and what engraving there is isn't high quality. OTOH the lock is excellent and the gun's handling is wonderful.
