That is very nice, Joel.sig230 wrote: Fri Jun 26, 2020 8:15 amThat's a great find and in amazing shape. Enjoy. I always found I was more accurate with my K22 than my M41.JoelB wrote: Fri Jun 26, 2020 1:59 am Yesterday, I got this 1939 S&W .22 Outdoorsman, which was the predecessor of the Model 17 K22 . It still has most of its original charcoal blue.
Neat! Other than shooting low, how was it?FlyGuy wrote: Tue Jul 07, 2020 9:09 am So this followed me home recently. Ruger New Model Blackhawk chambered in 30 Carbine.
Had a quick range day with it. Didn't shoot but a couple of wheel-fulls. Enough to know I need to raise the sights about 4 inches at 15 yards.
I was hosting what was later deemed "Abusive wheel gun day". Besides this beast I broke out the 444 Taurus in 44 mag, the Magnum Research BFR in 30-30, and just for the pain of it the S&W 500 mag. Needless to say we went home with sore hands. Speaking of sore hands, does anybody have recommendations for better grips? My big hands barely wrap around these.

I use some dayglo green on the front. It helps but my eyes suck anymore and there is very little light between front and rear. Works fine e for its purpose, though. Just jealous of sig 320's collection.

That 230 is gorgeous. Bottomfeeders don't appeal much to me, but there are a few ...sig230 wrote: Sat Jul 11, 2020 5:53 pm230. 230. Actually for the last few days my carry choice has been the J.P. Sauer 38h in my Fobus Sig P230 paddle holster. The Sauer 38h was the predecessor of the Sig P230 and in fact all of the lever hammer drop Sig Sauer pistols. The big difference is that on the 38h the lever can be used to both cock and decock the hammer and the hammer is internal.

IIRC I bought it new in 1995 and I cannot remember a single jam, failure to feed or fire or eject, brand of ammo it did not like or it ever needing anything more than replacing major springs every decade or so. It's had a variety of furniture over the years but the current smooth Hogues are the best I've found for pocket carry.wings wrote: Sat Jul 11, 2020 6:25 pm That 230 is gorgeous.
