Caution! Picture of balanced egg below!

That's for folks who have an aversion to pictures of balanced eggs. This is America. Doesn't take much to send some folks into the root cellar.

There's an expandable pic of this, top post in this thread:

Now, eggs may not be "the thing" when an egg free pic is needed.

That tool box is made from 130 year old cedar fencing, repurposed, as it were, as a photog back ground after having acquired its patina as an actual tool box.

I wouldn't mind seeing some pictures of the interior of that tool box; from what I see it was very well made.

Just picked this up today. Ruger American Predator in 308win. It's nothing fancy, but the hog on the other end of it won't give a damn.

Cleaned it and lubed it up, the internals we're dirty from the factory but now the bolt is actually decently smooth. Anybody polish their bolts? Might think about it if I get bored enough.

That looks great! I had been considering a 308 bolt gun after I stocked up on some 308 ammo, but it looks like I will have to wait. Prices have already jumped.

Very happy you got yours when you did!

I polished the bolt on my Ruger Precision 22 just yesterday. I used a lighter to soot it up, ran it through the chamber to find the high spots, then used a drill with a polishing wheel to buff the high spots. It cycles super smooth now.

New, bought it just before the price hikes. I have a Burris 3-9x42 I'm gonna slap on it and see how that works. I don't love the eye box on that scope but the glass is clear. Need to get the the outdoor range and run a few rounds through it.

Yeah man, me too! Picked it up for ~$360 shipped, cheapest available now for this model is ~$435 plus shipping.

Good to know, might be breaking out the Dremel in the next couple of days.

Yeah, I went back and looked when I heard about the gun panic. Prices had already spiked for everything. I guess I already did better than most by getting what I could when I did. Those prices weren't going to last forever.

I'm definitely happy the hobby really took hold for me over the past 2-3 years and I spent about as much as I could afford in that time frame. Just lucky timing on my part. Like you said, those prices weren't gonna last forever, and we'll probably never see the $300 serviceable AR-15 kit ever again.

Guy at my FFL was telling me about a guy who bought an AR during the 2012 panic buys and tried to come back in 2017 to sell it for what he paid for it, almost got laughed out of the shop.

Yeah, glad we were able to take advantage of the low prices while we could.

I like the ARs but refused to pay more for one than AKs. When the prices tanked, I went for it. I would happily sell them back at 2012 prices!

I hope ammo prices drop back down, though. Or, I start making more money. :D

we've talked some about top-break revolvers, here are my 3. none of them works reliably. l to r, there's the S&W model 4 in 32s&w, a harrington & richardson "hammerless" (internal hammer) in .32, and the one that started it all for me, the .38. i suspect the S&W can be most easily redeemed.

the .38 was my maternal grandmother's (family name of "kent") gun. she died while my mom was child, but the story goes that as a WAVE* during ww1 she worked for a paymaster handling payroll, so was told to arm herself. she must have been quite a woman. the gun came to me about 2000, non-functional, parts are difficult. one cylinder has a crack. i'll eventually go thru all of them and see what i can fix.

* WAVES were ww2, so obviously not. maybe a civilian employee.
