What is your favorite go to gun and ammo combo for home defense?

I have several handguns with HP ammo around the house cocked and loaded since I live alone, and home invasions seem to be popular now days? Of course the shotgun iwith #4 shot is there too in the corner of the bedroom. Never too far from a gun just in case?

20" Winchester 1897 with slugs at the moment. Should get some 00.

.38 wadcutters inside house. We're getting away from hollow points..357 various weights outside. XD9 for backup.

We have a gaggle of Ruger revolvers. a .357 marlin lever gun. and a Beretta .22 lever action.

We used to have all kinds of military style crap but I'm no longer in the military and the only weapons I used in the military were the M-14 and 1911 .45. I never liked the plastic AR so we traded that one.

I do carry. Either an LCR, LCP, SP101 3" or Taurus pt709 "Slim" Depending on the outfit. These days since I'm 64 and don't care much for fashion that means cargo pants and a t-shirt. Lotsa room for guns and I don't have to carry a purse.

I carry a Kel Tec PF-9 woth HP in a great Remora holster that clings to the body comfprtably in side the waistband. A Beretta.25 in the purse 7/24. I feel safe.

Anyone else care to join in on your favorite carry or home defense piece or pieces?

You are right! Carrie is overpriced on her stock, but I order my stuff from other gun sites, like Midway, Cheaper than dirt, etc.

What I like about the site is the social interaction and reading the post by other women and some men, the pictures and such. Great for that purpose I think. Bad for supplies.

I created a photobucket account which is free and upload the photo's I want.
then when i select the photo there is a link that is designed to copy and paste in a forum such as this..

For other photo's on the internet, I right click the photo. then i get a menu that asks copy link location or view photo.
if you use the copy link then you paste it in this forum between the (img][/img) brackets.

*strolls in late* Hello ladies! Sorry I'm late, hubby and daughter keep me busy in the evenings!

I haven't got a lot of experience with home defense guns, but I liked the shotgun we had, mostly because thieves are generally cowardly and nothing is scarier than the sound of a shotgun being chambered.

For me, right now, I like the hubbies 1911. It isn't as hard on the wrists as the revolver for me.

Hopefully, in the next 6 months or so, I'll have my very own gun and be working on correcting stance, grip, etc (I really am a n00b), and then getting my CCL.

Hello again ladies, some substinance this time. Yup photobucket's the way to go. Upload and select your photo, then save and go to album. Scroll over the image you want and a window will appear that says "share". Select "IMG Code". Click on it normally, no right click, it will say "copied". Then go back to where ever you want to paste it and "right click and paste". Whala!

You folks may think I am stupid but I have worked several hour stoday going many ways trying to get a picture to post on this site.Many different issues, one I tried to downlaod Bucket photo despite the afact I have Picassa, Windows Photo Galery and my document sto mention a few. Don't really need any more apps taking up room on hard drive. Besides, some tech glitch denied acceptance of photo bucket download to my after trying twice. I give up.

I load pics on a lot of sites but this one stymies me. I quit!

If the admin has any other methods other than photo bucket I will try them?

http://photobucket.com does not download anything to your computer.
It works only in one direction - from your 'puter to the internet.
I used to build websites. A link is a link is a link.
Unless you use a MAC I can talk you through the process.
