This is a bit of a weird one in that its a non-issue at the range. Just pop in the ear plugs and go.
My question is this:
Is there a cost effective method for hearing protection while hunting/guarding incase you need to make a shot or SHTF? I should expand that when i say guarding, i mean legal work as an armed security guard or LEO. I've seen electronic headsets before but headsets don't work very well with glasses normally and I can't stand contacts. If I had the money I would get my vision corrected by laser surgery but I doubt my insurance covers that.
This also doubles for working in a loud work environment. Granted, If I was doing that, i might have to drop the big bucks on a combination hard hat and headset for safety's sake.

2I don't own them, but I know a few people who swear by the Walker's Silencer earbuds. If I had to wear hearing-pro all day, I'd probably get them myself.

3These are the closest I could find to the old Sonic Ear-valves I used to have.
