So to shoot the raccoon, he pointed the gun back and towards his leg.

Guys, I may have missed somethin but I think I've been using this thing all wrong. Ima go to the range later and flip everything around.

Seems to me white males from Colorado Springs have a particular dislike for -coons. In his haste to dispatch the perceived intruder to his paradise of racial purity, this gentleman must have forgotten his trigger discipline. An unintended outcome due to excitement in finding an excuse to display his firearm potency, not unlike blowing his load before...
Oh never mind.

I hope he doesn't have a concealed carry permit, heavens knows who he'd shoot. Wonder if an adult beverage or two or three was part of this incident.

What’s going on in Colorado? FBI Agent shots bystander in bar after showing his gymnastics ability. Now we have a guy shooting himself in leg while trying to subdue a raccoon. I wonder if he was shooting a Glock with one of those leg seeking bullets.

I prefer the kitchen broom as the proper anti raccoon weapon. Yes, it's true: I've swept myself while dealing with them wretched trash pandas.

Did you sweep yourself with your 9mm hand broom or your 30/06 long broom or the 12 ga push broom? :D

Wasn't there a statistic I read somewhere? Something about the odds being 500 times more likely to have your gun used against you by a raccoon than the odds of defending yourself against the raccoon?

I'm pretty sure I read that on the internet. I think we all know what really happened here.

I wonder if this raccoon is kin to the one that climbs skyscrapers?
At about 2:30 a.m. local time, a grainy live feed from St. Paul showed a shadowy little figure scurrying up and onto the top of a 25-story building, prompting an almost audible sigh of relief from the internet.
For hours on Tuesday, Twitter users followed the exploits of the daredevil free-climbing raccoon. The drama started after maintenance workers removed the creature from the roof of a St Paul office block.
Not prepared to take a hint, it headed to the neighboring UBS tower -- one of the tallest buildings in the city.
Then it started to climb.

Raccoon was quoted "I was trying to just take it away from him when it discharged. I was in fear of my life." :D
