Saw the news alerts this morning when deputies were first dispatched to the warehouse. The shooter was a woman, rare and used only a handgun.
...no shots were fired by responding law enforcement officers...
Also rare.

Harford County Sheriff Jeffrey Gahler said family and friends of Snochia Moseley told investigators she was "increasingly agitated" and that they were "concerned for her well-being." Moseley was identified as a temporary employee at the distribution center. Police said she used a 9mm Glock handgun in the shooting and died at a hospital from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. "I don't want to go into specifics about her medical condition but she was diagnosed with a mental illness," Gahler said.

Despite this, Gahler said she legally purchased her firearm. Police said she would need to be diagnosed with a mental illness or disorder and would have had to shown a propensity of violence to herself or others before applying to purchase a firearm. "As we look across the country it is pervasive in a lot of communities. You just don't know when or where this could happen. It's almost like a ticking time bomb and when that mental illness manifests into violence," Harford County Executive Barry Glassman said at the news conference.

Sheriff's office top official says Maryland Rite Aid shooter had schizophrenia, criticizes state gun laws
A top Harford County Sheriff’s Office official, while praising Aberdeen Police for their response to last week’s shooting at a Rite Aid distribution center in Perryman, criticized gun laws that he said allow a person with acute schizophrenia to own a gun.

Maj. William Davis, chief of the agency’s police operations bureau, told Aberdeen’s mayor and City Council members Monday that the suspect, 26-year-old Snochia Moseley, of White Marsh, had been diagnosed with acute schizophrenia, but she answered “no” to questions about whether she had been diagnosed with a mental illness when filling out paperwork to purchase a handgun.
“I think all of us in the room would probably agree that somebody who has been diagnosed with acute schizophrenia should not be allowed to possess or purchase a weapon,” Davis said.
