Four arrested at Kent State University open-carry gun walk after tense standoff between gun activists, counter-protestors, police
There were four arrests. All were charged with disorderly conduct, with one additionally charged with assault on a police officer.
Officers struggled to keep the two sides apart as protestors pressed against the police line, hurling insults at the marchers. What ensued was a standoff, punctuated by spotty discussions between groups, screaming matches and insults.

Police pushed back protestors, who pushed back on them.

Jacob Becker, a sophomore at Kent State, was talking to multiple people around the rally, including Bennett. He said while it was clear what gun-rights activists were campaigning for, it wasn't as clear for the counter-protestors.

"It seems like one side is fighting for one issue and the other side is attacking the rally," he said.

He said that he didn't think the way protestors were interacting with police and gun-rights activists was productive.
