This is definitely NOT my how to, but a lovely read with lots of pictures about a machinist who built one from scratch. That's some amazing damned work.

I just walked in from the current project in my lathe which is now stopped as I just discovered that either I mis-ordered or my tool supplier sent me the wrong reamer. Pretty sure I ordered 0.550 but seem to have gotten 0.509. I guess I'll finish it up next week. Machining stuff is cool. I wish I was actually formally trained.

FUCK!
The way that guy backs off the threading tool to make the thread taper off gradually at the root is quite the trick. I run the same Hardinge he does and I’m terrified at even trying it.
