I live in NoVA, please add me to DC/VA/MD subforum.

Is this forum alive and well? Seems a little barren.

I'm officially reaching out to people in this region looking to become LGC certified instructors. We need people to teach a very basic intro to safety, handling, and marksmanship. Please PM me if you're interested. If there is interest in certification in intermediate courses we have those as well.

Howdy all. New member from the DMV area. I'd like to be added to this local group.

If the local group is still active I'd love to be added. I'm moving from Texas to Maryland in a few months, and I'm trying to wrap my head around the MD gun laws.

Not a lot of action on that subgroup. A couple folks are in the area. I am in PA but just north of Mason and Dixon.
Neverthless, she persisted.

Greetings all. New LGC member in the Central VA region. Looking to get back in shape after a ten year post .mil break. I can't seem to find a range that doesn't require membership in the NRA nearby. If anyone out there has some intel on this, I would greatly appreciate it.

Where in Central VA? I don't think the range on Quantico requires NRA membership. There are also a number of sighting-in ranges operated by VDGIF open on a seasonal basis. They're really intended for sighting in rifles/shotguns for hunting purposes, but if there are empty lanes (as there usually are), they offer a low-cost option. However, they are bench position and rifle/slugs only. They are virtually empty on weekdays prior to 5PM, so as long as you follow the rules, you shouldn't have any trouble. All you need is a fishing/hunting license to use.

I've scoped out the Hite Hollow range as it's the closest to me in Charlottesville. Short of owning 20 acres and setting up my own range, that would be an ideal situation. It's still just too far to make it reasonable. Quantico is definitely way too far. Piedmont Sportsman Club is looking like the closest/non icky option. I have yet to check out their facilities. Stand by for a full report/review on that.

Hello DMVers- I'm curious if anyone in conceptually interested in a local meet-up? Seems like there are a fair number of folks, but I'm not aware of any activity. Thoughts?

On an unrelated note- has anyone ever wandered out to the Bath County range? I'll be down there mid-Oct and was curious what it's like.

Welp, it appears there aren't that many DMVers around. I remain open to the idea, if some others express interest.

There is a DC/MD/VA group setup. I would contact the forum admin and ask to be added.

Time permiting, I would be up for a meetup. Say, range trip+ lunch or dinner?

Yes, this subgroup does exist. I asked to be an ex-officio member since I only live about 15 miles north of Mason-Dixon Line. Not much traffic on the subgroup.

If you get up to Gettysburg, let me know and maybe we can go shooting. I am a member of a club that does rent to outside groups. Outside ranges only and pretty primitive but still could be fun.

Where do you go shooting DistrictCow?
Elite Shooting Sports when I can, CF Phelps when it's open/I'm feeling rifle only, and NRA range when I'm lazy/it's late. I know, I hate the idea of giving them money too.

I'm never opposed to range time- if a few people are willing to join in and we find a day that works, I'm in.

Thanks for the info! I currently go to Sharpshooters in Lorton which is 15 mins drive from me. I want to see my local options. :)
