Anyone else like to go?
Here I am at the Pinedale Wy. rendezvous at the Museum of the Mountain Man.
( I'm the one in the red cap )
The folks there are great and the displays are excellent.
Rendezvous are lots of fun and you never know who you will meet up with.
My friend Dave and I go to several , showing our collection of 30 plus antique guns.
Look forward to seeing you all down the trail ...

Re: Rendezvous ...
3Are there any local clubs near you?
it is very fun and many , if not most are family friendly.
Plus you get to see some cool guns!
Here are some that my friend Dave and I own ...

4Not sure, the biggest muzzleloader club in the area closed probably 15-20 years ago. I'm sure there are still a couple as we have several pioneer days at the home of Daniel Boone and the launching location of Lewis & Clark.

5I wouldn't mind finding a group as well..curtism1234 wrote:Not sure, the biggest muzzleloader club in the area closed probably 15-20 years ago. I'm sure there are still a couple as we have several pioneer days at the home of Daniel Boone and the launching location of Lewis & Clark.
Not too long ago the wife and I were walking at Ft Belle Fontaine park and came across the remains of a frontier group that was packing up from a weekend stay.

Re: Rendezvous ...
6The percussion rifle 8th from the right side, is that a Leman trade rifle rifle?
Re: Rendezvous ...
7eelj,
yes it is a Leman trade rifle.
It has a Ashmore lock and it is in .50 caliber.
The rifle is from the late 1830's or so .
We still shoot this rifle. In fact last year at the 1838 Rendezvous , a kid came in first place with it in the junior division.

Re: Rendezvous ...
8Anyone here go to the Fort De Charters [built from 1718-1720] Rendezvous in Prarie du Rocher Illinois? I use to go to this every year growing up, as a spectator that is. I also take my kids as often as I can these days too. The Rendezvous is only twice a year though, spring and autumn.

that could be the pain medication though, but I'd prefer to think its the beauty of the muskets.
Best hope no anti gunner get this picture. they might use it as propaganda claiming 1 person owns all the guns in the country, so banning them will not affect many people.

Re: Rendezvous ...
12Thanks.
It is fun to show them off. Even better is when hand some a gun that is as old or older than the United States and tell them to shoulder it or work the lock ...

13I bet! The oldest in my collection is a mere 77 years old and that awes a lot of people who just know plastic guns.AndyinEverson wrote:Thanks.

Re: Rendezvous ...
14I do French & Indian war reenacting as a ranger corporal and I've been shooting flintlocks for like 10 years now. I'm planning on my jager hunting this fall. This thread has a bunch of pics from one of my events this spring.
Re: Rendezvous ...
15Very cool thread ... thanks for sharing.
I hunt with some of muzzleloaders. Always fun to bring home meat with a antique or traditional muzzleloader.
