The Running Thread

So... is anyone else here into long-distance running? I've done marathons and some off-road 50Ks before, and I really love it. Anyone?

Good one, Sail!

I'd like to get back into running. I like running dirt paths and crashing down hills through the trees. There's something primal about it. Getting back into shape for it sucks though. Muh shin splints. Muh side aches.

Maybe I'll be my daughter's running partner for the off season (between track ending and cross country starting). She'll kill me at the moment though. At least I wouldn't be starting 20 pounds overweight thought. Only 10.

I don't run unless the house is on fire. Replacement hips don't go well with impact sports. So walking, cycling, elliptical, swimming are all safe cardio alternatives. And swimming season is soon!
