U.S. Conference of Mayors: More gun control please
“The U.S. Conference of Mayors stands with the students from Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School and all other young people and adults committed to seeing reasonable gun safety policies become reality and to reducing gun violence in our cities,” the group said at its 86th annual meeting in Boston on Tuesday.

The group endorsed proposed regulations included age restrictions on gun sales; banning “military-style assault weapons,” high-capacity magazines and bump stocks; limiting the amount of firearms bought in a single transaction; increasing federal inspections of licensed dealers and enacting stricter punishments for non-compliance; opposing concealed carry reciprocity and “stand your ground laws,” as well as arming teachers; allow local governments to access ATF tracing data; implementing safe storage laws and red flag provisions; and banning replica guns.
“Mayors are on the frontlines of America’s gun violence crisis, so it’s no surprise they’re also leading the charge to pass common-sense, life-saving laws,” said Everytown president John Feinblatt. “It’s time for our leaders in Washington to follow the lead of America’s mayors and put public safety over NRA priorities.”

Not mentioned, even on the usmayors site.

“Policies like background checks on all gun sales and Red Flag Laws save lives. It’s as simple as that,” Freeman-Wilson said.
Evidence?
“The U.S. Conference of Mayors will continue doing everything in our power to keep our communities safe so that children and families are able to live free of the fear of being gunned down.”
Some proven cause and effect would be nice.
