BSA War Officer Pattern Miniature .22 Rifle.

#1 Post by Mustang » Thu Jul 20, 2017 4:37 pm

Years ago I got this at an auction. I was able to identify it as a "BSA War Office Miniature Rifle", but haven't been able to learn much else about it.

May have been used before the Enfield training rifles.

Looks more like the British "Volley Sight" or battle sight, but I could be wrong. :)

EDIT: And I am... I read "behind" and looked forward. Your "regular sight" is the volley sight. Peep behind.
Never mind me - carry on. :D

The rear sight appears to have been made to resemble a No1 MKIII Enfield sight.

Mine looks a lot like the "standard pattern"...including the sling
