Federal 22LR squib

Post by MaxWyatt »

The powder was unburned, bullet made it 5/6 of the way to the end of the barrel. I posted about it in the Range trip forum, but thought I'd pass along the batch number, etc. Bottom pic is the bullet and some of the unburned powder.

You are not the first to complaint about these. A friend of mine thought there was something wrong with his 10/22 because the shots were so inconsistent at 50 yards. Switching to Minimags showed that it wasn't the gun.
Yet she persisted.

I have bought exactly one box of Federal bulk ammo. I had about one dud in every magazine in a Ruger Mark III, so about 10% of it failed.

I've had good luck with other Federal .22lr, but this stuff is really inconsistent. During my previous range trip, I was struggling to keep my groups respectable and not winning. I switched to some Aguila and things got better right away.
