Pointless but fun Astra Cub

Post by lsj74 »

I found this on Armslist and got it $200
It's an Astra Cub 22 short made in 1955. It's in a pretty good shape and it came with the original box and one six round magazine but I don't think those are the original grips.
It runs well with the higher velocity rounds but when I tried CCI shorts at 710 FPS it had a lot of stovepipes. It probably hadn't been cleaned in years and a thorough cleaning did wonders for the trigger and the magazine.
Can't hit anything with it once I get any distance from the target but it's a neat little pistol and I have been wanting one.
Now I need a mouse gun in 22LR.

how did i miss this? that's a pretty little thing. i have a little collection of pocket pistols, most in .25.
with practice, i can routinely hit a paper plate at 7 yds. these were meant for closer.

here are a couple of mine. yours looks like a colt clone, but it's probably more akin to the galesi-brescia (top right)

The colts were re-marked Astras, which is why I’m jealous of one that actually says astra

I'm not sure what my fascination with mouse guns is but I just think they are the neatest thing.
There is something about these things being so small.
