SR22

#1 Post by MRI81 » Sat Dec 01, 2018 8:46 pm

I bought my first handgun today. Just waiting for my license to get amended. Went in with the plan to get a Shield 9mm but realized that I don't plan to carry until I've put a lot of rounds downrange (and after we've seen cops kill a couple good guys with a gun in the past month I'm hesitant to even then). It felt good to fire and my shot groups weren't completely awful for my first time shooting a pistol.

Excellent! .22's are fun to shoot and the ammunition is much less expensive so you can afford to practice more often.

I had an SR22 for a few years and loved it - pretty accurate once you get used to it. I put a Galloway captive-spring stainless guide rod on, after I lauched the original one across the room a couple of times. :)

:D

You can also add the optional anti-zombie bayonet if you don't mind getting laughed at a little.... Had to cut it down a bit to fit.

Of course you realize that pictures of said pistol are required in such a thread as this.

Great decision! Tandemkross has some great upgrades for the SR22. Upgrades being half the fun.

When the SR22 first came out, I was looking at it along with the Walther P22. A friend who had both said go with the Ruger he said the quality was better and I've been very happy.

I've got an SR22, too. I like it, but the first round always fails to eject, and that's with both clips, so I'm guessing the ammo I'm using isn't hot enough. But I still like the SR22 just fine. It's a good practice gun.

Thanks everyone! I'll put some pics of it once I'm allowed to take it out of the store (NY state won't let me take it home until my license is amended to include the specific firearm). Thanks for the Tandemkross recommendation, too!
