NAA Ranger II .22 Magnum

#1 Post by Riverkilt » Sat May 25, 2019 7:26 pm

So I've been reading about this little revolver in gun magazines. Never could find one....until last week on a road trip. Snapped it up.

I've had other NAA pea shooters but they are a flat pain to reload. This break top seemed to be the answer. Just back from the range where I put 40 of 40 rounds in a box 12 x 16 inches at 8 yards. So, tiny though they are, the sights work.

Most pleased. Was looking for a tiny deep concealment gun. This seems to be it. Easy to tuck away most anywhere.

Another knock was that the small size and smooth grips make accurate shooting difficult. Didn't bother me at the range today but already ordered imitation stag grips to improve traction - a suggestion in one of the articles I read.

Recoil? None.

Forgot to mention...never once accidentally opened the break top when cocking the hammer. Something all three magazine articles reported. Maybe forewarned, but it wasn't a problem for me.

I've had the original style 22mag for about 31yrs. The first time I shot I was shocked at how loud it was.

To me .22 mags have the worst sharp crack than any other ammo, pistol wise. I like them in a rifle better.

I agree, they're noisy compared to regular 22LR, a "wee" bit larger than regular 22.

I believe you can send it in to NAA to have a lanyard ring attached.

I had a little NAA Black Widow that wasn't bad. Probably would have kept it, but I hated loading and unloading it. Muzzle-sweep city.
