Wait, I thought the puppet master in Moscow wanted Trump to win? Obviously the puppet master has his strings crossed if one puppet is causing trouble for the other.

Pennsylvania recount rules: state reportedly requires three voters in each of the state’s 9,163 electoral precincts to submit a notarized request for a recount. https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/201 ... nald-trump

So that makes a state-wide recount just about impossible. Oh, and many precincts use electronic voting machines that don't produce paper verification. No cause for concern there....

Yeah, a waste of time. Missed the Nov 21 deadline, which means she'll have to sue to move forward.

But Stein is getting her name out there and raising more money then she did for the entire election cycle. So, it's probably a good thing for her party. Get some press and the desperate Democrats to donate to your future campaigns.

So instead, Stein is promoting an “especially complicated” voter-initiated recount effort that involves three voters in every precinct or election district in Pennsylvania submitting a notarized affidavit to the clerk in their individual election districts.

Lawrence Otter, a lawyer for Stein’s campaign, said individual voters were filing petitions with boards of elections in several counties across the state seeking recounts in their precincts. Voters had already done so in Philadelphia, and Otter said they were expected to do so in Bucks County as well later Monday.

According to the Department of State, there were 9,163 voting precincts in Pennsylvania during the 2016 election. So Stein would need over 27,000 voters to file notarized affidavits, but it's unclear if that avenue is even still available.

According to Wanda Murren, spokeswoman for the Pennsylvania Department of State, the deadline under the law for a voter-initiated recount at the county level had been Monday, Nov. 21. Many counties missed it but nearly half have already certified their results, precluding recounts there. That makes a lawsuit the only remaining option for initiating a statewide recount.

Security experts supporting Jill Stein’s request for hand recounts of ballots.

"More election security experts have joined Jill Stein’s campaign to review the presidential vote in battleground states won by Donald Trump, as she sues Wisconsin to secure a full recount by hand of all its 3m ballots.

Half a dozen academics and other specialists on Monday submitted new testimony supporting a lawsuit from Stein against Wisconsin authorities, in which she asked a court to prevent county officials from carrying out their recounts by machine.

Stein argued that Wisconsin’s plan to allow automatic recounting “risks tainting the recount process” because the electronic scanning equipment involved may incorrectly tally the results and could have been attacked by foreign hackers."

Now the Orange Cheeto has step in to the recounts in Michigan.
President-elect Donald Trump, who has claimed the election was riddled with fraud, has filed an objection to block what his lawyers called a “lawless, insulting” request for a recount in Michigan that had been scheduled to begin Friday.

A 36-page challenge filed by attorneys on behalf of Trump and the Michigan Republican Party argues that the “farce” recount called for by Green Party candidate Jill Stein “sows doubts regarding the legitimacy of the presidential election,” creates “constitutional chaos” and threatens to knock the Electoral College “off its hinges.”

The objection, filed Thursday with the Board of State Canvassers, argues that Stein has no standing to demand a recount because she has no chance of winning a recount. Stein, therefore, cannot be an “aggrieved” party even if fraud or mistakes are discovered, the document argues.

Stein “finished no higher than fourth in any state where she appeared on the ballot,” the filing states. “Yet despite being just a blip on the electoral radar, Stein has now commandeered Michigan’s electoral process” by demanding an “expensive, time-consuming” recount, the objection adds.

“Simply put, Michigan should not grant this lawless, insulting request,” it says, “and its voters should not risk having the Electoral College door knocked off its hinges, all because a 1-percent candidate is dissatisfied with the election’s outcome.”

Feeling a bit nervous, maybe he is scared they will find out how the Republicans rigged the election.

What can we expect from a Republican AG. What's next to get a group of Republicans to charge into the recount rooms screaming stop the counts. They would say there is a precedent.

There is the crap in Wisconsin where basicly they now can just resend the numbers they already have tallied.

I really think there will not be a change in the election. I could hope and pray to the Gods that it would.

Good article on the voting recount and how the Trumpsters and the GOP are running scared.
Republicans are panicking because the Green Party’s presidential recounts in Wisconsin, Michigan and Pennsylvania could prevent Donald Trump from receiving 270 Electoral College votes on December 19, the final hurdle to the presidency.

In the past 24 hours, the Trump campaign and GOP allies in the three states that gave him an apparent Electoral College victory after Election Night have filed similar lawsuits and legal motions to block, delay and freeze the recounts. In Michigan’s case, where Trump’s lead is smallest, 10,704 votes, the state’s Republican attorney general is arguing the recount's results should be ignored.

“If a recount cannot be accomplished by the ‘safe harbor’ date [a week before the Electoral College meets], or if it is started but not finished by that date, then the State Defendants must, on or before December 13, 2016, certify to the federal government the initial elector results announced on November 28, 2016,” Michigan Attorney General Bill Schuette, a Republican, said in his lawsuit filed against the Michigan's board overseeing the recount and its state election director.

The Trump campaign filed a similar complaint Thursday against the state’s Board of State Canvassers, saying Stein has no basis for the recount because she has no grievance and no chance of winning—ignoring that presidential candidates, even in minor parties, have standing under state and federal law.

This was widely misreported. Actually, she is taking the case to federal court while simultaneously continuing district by district recounts requested by voters in each district.

The gap between Trump and Clinton votes is now about 0.8 percent. If it drops to 0.5% it will trigger a state-wide recount.

Michigan county clerk notes vote tabulation problem. “During the Presidential Election Recount in Ingham County, I noticed that many of the differences in the certified election results versus the recount results were the consequence of individuals who voted straight party and then voted for an invalid write-in candidate…. Since Ben Carson was not a valid write-in candidate, the vote is tabulated for the Republican nominee—relying on the voter’s straight party vote.”

In other words, Trump apparently picked up votes from voters who voted for other candidates.
